Not much new to report this week. I'm told that Blinker is the size of a mini-watermelon, but at 7.5-8 lbs., he feels pretty full-sized to me. Lately he has been doing more squirming and less kicking, since he's really out of womb room to move. Also this week we've seen the real emergence of cankles as the mercury rises and my poor ankles and feet continue to swell. (My wrists and hands are swelling, too, resulting in carpal tunnel-like tingling and numbness.) But, as my siblings would say, quityerbitchin! Everyone is healthy, and it looks like Blinker will be opting to stay until the last hour for checkout from Hotel Kate. His official due date is July 16, and doctors won't try to evict him until he's 2 weeks overdue ... plenty of time left.
