We had an ultrasound and genetic testing done in early January, at 13 weeks of pregnancy. The genetic testing was CVS, or chorionic villus sampling, which is somewhat similar to amniocentesis. It was painless, though not fun or comfortable. At this appointment we also got a full ultrasound which included the following 3D view of Blinker. I think he* looks like Bryan.The testing was done by Dr. Prosen at Fairview-Riverside Medical center in Minneapolis. Dr. Prosen and her team were great; they were accommodating, compassionate, and really helped us understand what was going on.
We found out that Blinker is healthy, and he looks pretty happy, too.
* We say "he," but we're not sure if he's a he or a she. (Don't let this picture mislead you -- it doesn't indicate his/her gender.)
